Cookie Policy
The short version: this site sets no cookies. Not for advertising, not for analytics, not for anything. That is why you have never seen a cookie banner here, and why there is nothing for you to accept or decline.
Most cookie policies are long because most sites have a lot to admit. This one is short because there is little to admit, and we would rather say so in three paragraphs than pad it out to look thorough.
1. Why there are no cookies
A cookie is a small file a site stores on your device and sends back on every later request — which is what makes it useful for following people around. This site is static pages: nothing to log into, no basket, no session to keep. Our analytics (Umami, running on our own server) counts page views and download clicks without cookies and without building a profile of anyone. So there is no cookie to set.
2. What is kept in your browser, and it is not a cookie
Two things are stored in your browser’s own local storage. They stay on your device, are never sent to us with a request, and are not readable by any other site:
- Your language. Chosen once, so the site opens in it next time instead of asking again.
- The web version of the tool at /setup/. If you use it, it keeps its own settings there — your language and the anonymous installation identifier described in the Privacy Policy. Clearing your browser data removes them and the tool starts as if new.
We are naming these even though they are not cookies, because the rules that matter — the ePrivacy Directive and the GDPR — are about storing anything on your device, not about the word “cookie”. Neither of these is used to track you, and neither follows you to another site.
3. Third parties
The pages load a font from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google’s servers and Google sees your IP address for that request, as with any site that uses their fonts. Nothing else on this site is loaded from a third party: no advertising network, no tag manager, no social buttons, no embedded trackers. The download buttons point at our own server.
4. Your choices
There is no consent banner because there is nothing that needs consent. If you want to clear what is stored, clear this site’s data in your browser settings; the site keeps working and simply asks your language again.
5. If this changes
If we ever add something that does set a cookie, this page changes first, the effective date at the top moves, and a consent banner appears before that cookie is set — not after.
