# TV Box Tools > TV Box Tools (tvboxtools.com) is a free tool from Smartago that sets which app opens when you > press HOME on an Android TV or Google TV box you own. It works over the box's own debugging > connection (ADB), which you switch on yourself, from a Windows PC, an Android phone, or Chrome > with a USB cable. It records the previous home screen before changing anything and restores it > with one tap. It does not distribute launchers, does not show ads, needs no account and sends no > data. ## One tool - [TV Box Tools / TV Launcher Manager](https://tvboxtools.com/): the same download for everyone. - At home: sets the launcher you already have (Premium TV Launcher / PLUI, Projectivy, Monet, Arc, AT4K or any other) as the real HOME app, keeps it there on Android TV 14 where accessibility-based tricks stop working, and restores the stock home screen on request. If you have no launcher yet, it lists the known ones by name with a link to their Google Play page; it never installs one for you. - In a hotel, BnB or hospital: installs Hotel TV (package com.hotel.bnb.smart.hospitality.tv.launcher) on the box, links the TV to the room in the property's https://hoteltvapp.com/ dashboard with the 8-digit code, and hands the box over to the app, which becomes its owner (Device Owner: HOME pinned across reboots, settings behind the property's PIN). On the box: Settings → About → tap Build seven times → Developer options → USB debugging (and Wireless/Network debugging on Android 11+). 2. Connect from the tool: over Wi-Fi from the Windows app or the Android phone app, or over USB in Chrome. A web page alone cannot reach a box over Wi-Fi (browsers have no TCP sockets), so the web app at https://tvboxtools.com/setup/ works with a USB cable or hands over to the download. 3. Pick the launcher. The tool runs `cmd package set-home-activity`, verifies the result with `cmd package resolve-activity -a android.intent.action.MAIN -c android.intent.category.HOME`, and on Android TV where the stock launcher keeps coming back it disables it with `pm disable-user --user 0 `.
