Terms of Service
These Terms govern your use of TV Box Tools — TV Launcher Manager (the “Tool”), provided by Smartago LLC (“we”, “us”, “our”). By using the Tool you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Tool.
1. What the Tool is
The Tool sets up an Android TV box that belongs to you. It runs on your own computer, phone or television, connects to your own box over ADB — by USB cable or over your own network — and changes settings you could change by hand: which app opens when you press HOME, which system apps are enabled, animation speed, screen density, and similar. It is a convenience over commands you are entitled to run on your own device; it is not a modification of Android, it does not root anything, and it installs nothing without you asking.
2. Your device, your decision
- Use it only on devices you own or are authorised to manage. Turning on debugging and connecting over ADB is something only the device’s owner may do.
- Enabling debugging opens your box to any machine on the same network that you approve. Approve only machines you trust, and switch debugging off when you are done — the Tool offers to do that at the end.
- You choose which home app to set and which system apps to disable. The Tool records what was there before and can put it back, but the choice — and the result — is yours.
3. What we will not do to your box
These are limits we built into the Tool, not promises in prose:
- It never factory-resets a device.
- It never uninstalls the stock launcher. When a route needs the stock home out of the way it is disabled, which keeps the app and its data and is undone with one press.
- It refuses destructive commands outright — reboot to bootloader or recovery, fastboot, root, wipes, and removing the system packages a television needs to start. Every command it runs is shown to you before it runs, and written into the session report.
4. Other people’s applications
The Tool can set a launcher made by someone else as your home app, and can open that launcher’s page on your television’s Google Play so you can install it there. Those applications are not ours: they are governed by their own terms and licences, we do not distribute them, and we do not host them. Launcher names and logos belong to their developers and are used only to identify them. Android TV and Google TV are trademarks of Google LLC.
5. Files you choose yourself
The Tool can install an APK file that you pick from your own machine, or one already sitting on your box. We cannot verify the safety, integrity or legality of a file we did not publish. Installing software from unknown sources may expose your device to risk, and doing so is your decision and your responsibility. You must make sure that anything you install does not infringe copyright or other rights.
6. Our own applications
When the Tool installs one of our applications, it downloads it from our own servers and verifies it against the SHA-256 published in our manifest before installing. Each of those applications has its own terms and its own privacy policy.
7. Intellectual property
The Tool, its design and the name TV Box Tools belong to Smartago LLC. You may use it; you may not copy, modify, redistribute or create derivative works from it without our written consent, except where a licence we publish with the source says otherwise.
8. No warranty
The Tool is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Television boxes differ enormously in firmware and in what their manufacturers allow; we do not guarantee that every route works on every box, that it will be free of errors or interruptions, or that it meets your particular need.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Smartago LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages — including loss of data, loss of profit, or a device left in a state you did not intend — arising from your use of the Tool.
10. Price
The Tool is free. There is no account, no subscription and no purchase inside it. If that ever changes, this page changes first.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may modify these Terms. Significant changes are published on this page and the effective date at the top moves. Continuing to use the Tool after that means you accept the new Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions.
